Michelle is experienced in stakeholder consultation, design, and project management of building projects through her work in architectural practice for the past five years. Michelle is a 2010-2011 committee member of Urban Village Melbourne. Through UVM, she is currently working on the South Melbourne Commons project and co-coordinating the Community of Chapter House Lane project. Michelle is also the treasurer of UVM Arts, a mash-up arts collective supported by RMIT Union Arts.

Michelle is active in the local design/arts community and is one of the co-conveners of Pecha Kucha Melbourne. In late 2009 Michelle founded WELOVEPT, a multidisciplinary group that advocates for the right to an equitable and accessible public transport network through protests, art installations, performances, and web-based dialogue. WELOVEPT's inaugural project is the hilariously serious Melbourne Complaints Choir.

Michelle is actively engaged in the collaborative development of Hub Melbourne as a key member of the design team. She is also undertaking a part-time Masters of Social Science (IUEM) at RMIT. Related to the work in her design practice, her academic focus is in participatory and asset-based approaches and appreciative inquiry in community development.
